BRAZIL NATIONALMEN'S TEAM VISITS JETS

The Toronto Golden Jets got the chance of a lifetime when the Brazil National Men's Team decided to stop in Toronto for 5 days to train at the University of Toronto prior to the current World Championships Qualification Tournament in Calgary.  The Brazilian team scrimmaged with the Jets men 4 times during their stay and they also trained on their own on two other occasions.  The contact came about due to the connection between Brazilian Head Coach, Mirko Blazevic, and Jets age group Head Coach, Zoran Petrovic.  On the second night, the pool was not available, so Jets Head Coach, George Gross, Jr., arranged to take the Brazilians to a Toronto Maple Leafs hockey game.  The Jets and Brazilians also had a social night together on the 4th night.  After the last scrimmage, both teams got together for a picture.  Coach Gross, Jr. then presented each player and member of the coaching staff with a Golden Jets T-shirt which the players, on their own, immediately donned in order to take a team picture.  The Golden Jets had hosted and played against some top European clubs in the past including Dozsa (Hungary), Ethnikos (Greece) and Pescara (Italy) but have never had the privilege to host a national team.
