JETS WOMEN HAVE GOOD OPENING WEEKEND
The Golden Jets senior women hosted two games each against visiting Capital Wave (Ottawa) and DDO (Montreal) and went 2-1-1. This was the opening weekend of MLWP play for the Jets women. The weekend began with a 8-8 tie against Capital Wave. Nicole Brown led all scorers with 4 goals, Emily Bidinosti notched two and Ana Miroslavic and Sydney MacDougall each scored once.
The rematch was not a pretty effort and the Jets fell 9-4. Brown, Miroslavic, Marianne Tout and Ali Kraft scored once apiece.
Next up was DDO. In the opening contest, Brown proved to be too much for the visitors netting 5 goals. Bidinosti and Brittany Sinclair scored twice.
The rematch was a thriller with the teams never separated by more than a goal. The Jets scored late and hung on to win 10-9 to sweep DDO. Kraft notched 4 goals, Bidinosti and Sinclair two each with Miroslavic and Tanya Robinson both getting one.
