JETS 19U OPENS WEEKEND STRONG
The Golden Jets 19U boys team opened a major weekend of games at the Markham Pan Am Center with a pair of wins over Ottawa teams. In the first tilt, the Jets jumped out to 5-0 and 9-1 leads in the opening two quarters of play en route to beating the Ottawa Titans 16-7. Euan Scoffield, Zach Ginsberg, Marko Avdalovic, Blake Carneval and David Rapoport each scored twice. Kosta Grbic, William Qiu, Stefan Mitic, Stefan Vukovic, Alex Bozzo and Matija Babic had one tally each.
In the night game, the Jets led Capital Wave 6-2 in the first quarter and 13-2 at the half after going on a 7-0 run in the second quarter. The final score was 29-8. Carnevale with 6 goals and Bozzo with 5 led the way. Luka Pejanovic and Mitic notched 4 goals apiece whileAvdalovic had a hat trick. Bojan Popovic, Rapoport and Mitic each scored twice and Babic added the final tally.
Next up for the Jets is a pair of games against Montreal teams (CAMO and DDO Black).
