SR. MEN WIN SILVER AT MLWP FINALS
The Toronto Golden Jets Senior Men traveled to Montreal in early March for the Major League Water Polo finals and won the silver medal for the second year in a row. In the semi-final, the Jets won a thrilling shootout that went into the second round of shots. It was tied 5-5 at the end of regulation and
8-8 after the first round of 5 shots. When Mike Chapman scored and then goalie Andrew Chorniy stopped his third penalty shot in the shootout, the Jets were off to the gold medal game next day against DDO. The Jets played an extremely disciplined defensive game and trailed only 2-1 at the half. However, the shooters appeared to run out of energy and the team fell 5-3 with Tuna Tali scoring all 3 goals for the Jets. Chorniy was named both the regular season and playoffs Most Valuable Goalie.
