JETS 16U BOYS OPEN NATIONALS WITH WIN
The Toronto Golden Jets 16U boys opened the National Championships with a 13-6 win over Edmonton. The Jets roared out to an early 4-0 lead but Edmonton scored twice in the final minute to trail 4-2 at the end of the first quarter. Two more tallies by the Tsunami tied the game up early in the second quarter. The Jets then scored three unanswered goals to close the half ahead 7-4. The Jets outscored Edmonton 3-2 to take a 10-6 lead into the final quarter. Then, in the span of a little over a minute, the Jets scored three times to put the game away. Seif Nile led all scorers with 5 goals. Stefan Mitic scored a hat trick. David Rapoport and Blake Carnevale each scored twice and Marko Avdalovic added a single. Nile was named the game's first star and Mitic was the second star. Up next for the Jets is a 8:00pm contest against Fraser Valley (B.C.) who defeated Saskatchewan 14-1 earlier today.
