JETS 16U BOYS SHOW CONSIDERABLE IMPROVEMENT

The Golden Jets 16U boys team had a tough weekend at Markham.  The team was scheduled to play the top two teams in the East: CAMO (Montreal) and DDO (Montreal).

Two weeks earlier, the Jets lost by 18 and 17 goals respectively.  However, at the Markham Pan Am pool, the young Jets showed discipline and heart and came away with two moral victories, albeit in a losing cause.

Against CAMO, the Jets played a very respectable 1-2 first quarter, trailed 2-6 at the half and 4-9 after 3 quarters before succumbing 14-5 and halving the goal differential from their previous encounter.  Luka Pejanovic scored twice with singles going to Illan Rodriguez, Kosta Grbic and Victor Brancus.

The Jets began strongly against DDO, actually leading 3-2 midway through the opening quarter.  Eventually the team fell 16-8, again halving the goal differential from their previous encounter.  Denis Lipman has a strong offensive game netting 5 goals to lead the Jets.  Singles went to Stevan Djurdjevic, Pejanovic and Brancus.
