JETS MEN CONTINUE TO LEAD LEAGUE

The Golden Jets senior men travelled to Montreal in a snow storm to play the second league crossover against the Quebec-based teams.  The drive on Friday night took 8 hours and the team literally had to run from the cars into the pool to play its first game.

The opposition was CAMO Masters and the drive took its toll as the Jets fell behind early but led 3-2 at the end of one quarter.  The Masters kept coming against the sluggish Jets players and went out in front 5-4 at the half.  The Jets recaptured the lead at 9-8 at the end of the third quarter but the Masters tied it up early in the final frame.  However, the Jets stormed back in the last five minutes to win 13-10.  Rudy Despaigne had a hat trick while Daniel Ugray and Euan Scoffield each scored twice.  Singles went to Mike Chapman, Paul Spooner, Matt Hart, Sever Topan and Sukhmun Hare.

On Saturday morning, the Jets again started slowly against Ottawa United and led by the same 3-2 end of first quarter margin as the night before.  The Jets defence then held strong conceding only once the rest of the way and the offence kicked into gear for a comfortable 15-3 victory.  Despaigne again led all scorers with 4 goals.  Alan Chung, Scoffield and Topan scored twice each and Tuna Tali, Vlad Tasevski, Hare, Hart and Ugray tallied singles.
