JETS MEN BEGIN TITLE DEFENCE WITH WINS OVER CAMO TEAMS
The Toronto Golden Jets senior men began defense of their National Championship title with back-to-back wins over a pair of CAMO teams on the weekend at UofT.
The Jets jumped out to an early lead against the CAMO Masters and led from start to finish winning 13-5. Last year's National Finals MVP, Tuna Tali, and new arrival Rudy Despaigne each scored a hat trick to lead the Jets. Som Seif and Paul Spooner both scored twice while Euan Scoffield, Mike Chapman and Emirhan Ozdemir all tallied once. Ozdemir is the Jets' starting goalie and scored a rare pool-length goal when he caught the Masters goalie straying too far out of the net on a sudden turnover.
Later in the day, the Jets met the CAMO Roadrunners and got out to a surprising early lead. Despaigne had a big game for the Jets scoring seven times to lead the charge as the Jets won 16-10. Daniel Ugray tallied a hat trick, Sukhmun Hare netted two goals and Alan Chung, Vlad Tasevski, Scoffield and Tali notched a single each.
