JETS WOMEN HAVE STRONG ROAD TRIP
The Golden Jets senior women travelled to Montreal and Ottawa for 4 games and came home with an excellent three wins and a loss.
After a six hour car drive, the undermanned team (including no goalie as school commitments prevented Breanna Gadzosa from arriving until after the game) put up a valiant effort against CAMO (Montreal) Bleu but fell 11-6. Emily Bidinosti and Ana Miroslavic each scored a hat trick. Casey Pottier stepped in and did an admirable job in goal stealing passes and making several key saves.
The next morning, the Jets squared off against CAMO Blanc, a team that sported two ex-National Team players. The game see-sawed throughout but the Jets women found a way to eke out a 12-11 win. Miroslavic was on fire with 5 goals, Pottier moved back into the field and netted 4 goals while Marianne Tout, Tanya Robinson and Bidinosti scored one apiece.
Later in the day, the Jets built up an early lead and then hung to win 12-10 against DDO. Pottier, Bidinosti and Miroslavic all netted hat tricks. Sydney MacDougall scored twice and Ali Kraft had the other.
The team traveled late at night to Ottawa for an early morning encounter with Capital Wave, a team that had beaten and tied the Jets in Toronto earlier in the season. This time, the Jets returned the favour defeating the Wave 11-6. The Jets did a great job of spreading the scoring around as Bidinosti, Pottier, Miroslavic, Robinson and Kraft each scored twice. Tout had the final tally.
