BIDINOSTI LEADS WAY IN LOSING CAUSE
The Toronto Golden Jets senior women played their first ever games at Markham's new Pan Am pool facility on the weekend. The results were not what the team was looking for. On Saturday, the team had only one substitute and was handily defeated by the two CAMO (Montreal) teams, Bleu and Blanc. On Sunday, the teams played rematches and this time the Jets put on a much stronger effort. Against Bleu in the morning, the Jets came close before losing 12-10. Emily Bidinosti led the way with 4 goals while Ana Miroslavic, Brittany Sinclair and Nicole Brown each scored twice.
In the afternoon, the Jets succumbed 12-9 to Blanc. Bidinosti struck for 5 goals, all out of the center forward position scoring on a side roll, 2 lay out lobs and 2 backhands. brown had a hat trick and Casey Pottier the other tally.
While not an excuse, the Jets had to play two games a day while the two Montreal squads each played once. Three Jets players, Sydney MacDougall (out for the season with a shoulder tear) and Marianne Tout (strained shoulder) and Danielle Zanardo (business commitments) were not available which further physically taxed the remaining players.
