The Toronto Golden Jets senior women traveled to Montreal on the weekend to take part in the MLWP Finals/Senior National Championships and came away with a 4th place finish.

The Jets opened up Saturday morning in the quarter finals against Capital Wave (Ottawa).  The team trailed 2-1 after the first quarter but rebounded with a strong second quarter to take a 7-4 lead at the half.  The gap narrowed to 8-7 after three quarters.  The Jets then won the 4th quarter and thereby the game with a 10-8 margin.  Nicole Brown scored a hat trick, Emily Bidinosti and Casey Pottier each netted two goals while Marianne Tout, Ana Miroslavic and Ali Kraft had singles.

Later that afternoon, the Jets played their semi-final match against CAMO Blanc (Montreal), the eventual National Champions.  It was a hard fought contest with the Jets keeping the score close throughout and trailing 6-4 after three quarters.  But the team ran out of gas in the final quarter before succumbing 8-4.  Bidinosti struck twice while Pottier and Miroslavic tallied once.

On Sunday morning the Jets faced off against DDO (Montreal) for the bronze medal.  The score kept being tied after each quarter.  In the final quarter, the Jets scored twice to go up 7-5 at the midway point, got tied, went ahead 8-7 and then gave up two goals in the final minute as DDO won 9-8.  Bidinosti had a hat trick, Brown two goals with singles going to Brittany Sinclair, Pottier and Kraft.
