JETS MEN REMAIN UNDEFEATED

The second MLWP crossover weekend took place this past weekend, this time at the new Markham Pan Am pool.  All 8 teams converged in the event that saw all 4 Quebec-based teams play all 4 Ontario-based teams.

On Friday night, the league-leading Toronto Golden Jets men took on the second place CAMO (Montreal) Roadrunners and came away with a hard fought 10-8 win.  Sukhmun Hare led all scorers with 5 goals.  Mike Chapman and Alan Chung each scored twice with Milos Radojcic adding the other.    The Jets jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and held that advantage until the end of the 3rd quarter.

The next morning the Jets squared off against DDO (Montreal) doubling up the Devils 14-7.  After the Jets trailed 2-1 early, the team roared back on hat tricks from Chapman and Radojcic.  Emre Tali netted two as did Chung and Hare.  Singles went to Tuna Tali and Paul Spooner.

Later on Saturday, the Jets met Laval.  The Tritons had given the Jets a huge challenge at the Montreal crossover two weeks earlier and did so again leading 3-1, 6-4 and 9-7 after each of the first three quarters.  But the Jets came to life in the final quarter to go ahead 11-10 before Laval tied it up for the eventual 11-11 draw.  Emre Tali, Hare and Chung scored three goals apiece while Tuna  Tali and Vlad Tasevski added singles.

The final game of the weekend on Sunday pitted the Jets against the CAMO Maitres.
After falling behind 5-2 in the first quarter, Hare netted a buzzer beater goal from half pool to breathe life into the Jets.  From there, the Jets stormed back to take a 7-6 half time lead, stretched it to 12-9 after three quarters and finished up with a 4-0 run in the final quarter to win 16-9.  Hare scored four times, Tuna Tali and Chung scored three each while Emre Tali and Tasevski popped two goals apiece and Chapman and Sever Topan chipped in with singles.

With starting goalie Emirhan Ozdemir out with injury, back-up Trevor Robinson, a former MLWP Most Valuable Goalie, stepped in and played outstanding in the nets for the Jets.

The three wins and a tie left the Jets unbeaten through 15 games.
