JETS U19 BOYS OPEN STRONG IN MONTREAL
The Toronto Golden Jets U19 boys NCL team are in Montreal this weekend for the final league weekend tournament before playoffs.
After the drive, the Jets got in the pool on Friday and defeated DDO White 20-7. Despite the expected slow start after the long trip, the Jets led 4-2 after the first quarter. Then a pair of +4 quarters put the game out of reach. David Rapoport and Blake Carnevale had monster games for the Jets each scoring 7 goals. Stefan Mitic netted a hat trick, Marko Avdalovic scored twice and Alex Bozzo added the other.
After three hours rest, the Jets were back at it, this time against the Ottawa Titans.
The Jets led 3-1 at the end of the first quarter. Then the squad caught fire and ran off 6 straight goals to start the second quarter leading to an insurmountable 9-2 lead at the half. Avdalovic led all scorers with five markers, Rapoport notched four, Carnevale had a hat trick, Stefan Vukovic chipped in with two goals and Kosta Grbic and Mitic added one apiece.
The two wins kept the Jets in second place in the Eastern Conference.
