BANTAM JETS PERFORM WELL IN OTTAWA

The Bantam Golden Jets made their first ever overnight away trip to Gatineau's Invitational. Many parents drove up which made for a great club trip.

Coaches Freddy and Jacqui did an excellent job of rotating all players in to play throughout the tournament.

In the opener, the Jets were in tough against an experienced host team from Gatineau (six practices per week) and had the added strain of a 4+ hour drive immediately before the game. The team fought hard but, in the end, succumbed 22-9. The next game was also against an experienced team from the host region. The Ottawa 'A' team was able to dominate the Jets 12-3. Things got much better on Day 2 as the Bantams recorded back-to-back wins against
Kitchener 'B' (12-6) and Lindsay (10-7). On the final day, the Bantams played Hamilton for
5th place and led into the 4th quarter before losing a tight one 7-5.

Stefan Vukovich scored 15 goals and tied for 5th leading scorer in the tournament. Marko Avdalovich had 8 (tied for 15th), Kosta Grbic and William Qiu had 4 each, Pascale Bider had 2
and Matija and Luke Pejanovic scored one each to round out the Jets scoring.
