JETS U14 BOYS GET EARLY START ON COMPETING

U14 Head Coach Mohammed Rezk wasn't sure his team was ready to compete in a serious tournament since he had so many new players.  However, "Moh" was pleasantly surprised when his players responded with four gritty performances in holding their own against more established competition.  Using all his players so that development could start in earnest for all of them, Moh
was all smiles as the team played disciplined, organized and team-oriented water polo. Congratulations to Moh and all his players on a first job really well done!!

JETS U19 GIRLS MAKE COMPETITION DEBUT

After several years, the Toronto Golden Jets fielded a U19 girls team that competed at the recently concluded K-W Winter Classic in Kitchener. Most of the players had never played in a club setting. The team had a great weekend winning once, tieing once and losing two close games. This was a great start to building an age group girls program! Congratulations to all the girls!

UGRAY NAMED OUA PEAK PERFORMER OF THE WEEK

University of Toronto Varsity Blues (and Golden Jets) men's water polo player Daniel Ugray has been named Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Peak Performer, presented by Investors Group, for the period ending November 28, 2016.
Ugray (Budapest, Hungary) was selected after he helped the Varsity Blues recapture the OUA banner this past weekend.
Ugray, a second-year international relations and economics major, co-led the Blues with three goals in a dominant 18-0 semifinal victory over the host Queen's Gaels in the semifinals on Saturday.
He followed that up on Sunday in the gold-medal match, scoring a game high four goals in a 7-0 victory over the Carleton Ravens to claim Toronto's second provincial title in the past three years.
The Varsity Blues have now won the OUA water polo championship 31 times in program history.

SPOONER NAMED TO OUA ALL-STAR TEAM

A correction to the last post on the Jets men and the UofT victory:  though Daniel Ugray was named the tournament MVP, Paul Spooner was named to the league All-Star team along with Emre Tali and Euan Scoffield.  Congratulations to all four for their honours!
