Bantams Triumph at K-W Classic

The weekend of December 1-2 was an extremely successful one for the Golden Jets U14 program.  The club entered three teams in the K-W Classic:  one AA team and two TF (Technical Foundation) teams.  The AA roster (pictured above) rolled to solid victories in all 4 of its games.  One of the TF teams went undefeated for the weekend and the other TF team only lost one close game.  The amazing thing was the club sending more than 30 players to the U14 event!!  Congratulations to Head Coach Predrag Pejanovic and all the players!

UT Women Win Silver at OUA FInals

On the weekend of Nov 23-25, the University of Toronto women's water polo team comprised almost exclusively of Golden Jets players traveled to Ottawa to compete in the OUA Championships.  The Varsity Blues, with 8 rookies, went through the round robin of the tournament with a 3-1 record defeating Ottawa 9-2, McMaster 11-5 and Queen's 16-4 and losing 6-9 to Carleton.   The gold medal match was a thriller.  The teams see-sawed the lead throughout the game with neither team leading by more than a goal at any stage.  Regulation ended 4-4.  Carleton scored in the first overtime but UofT tied it late in the second overtime.  That meant a shootout for the gold medal.   The Blues shooters twice hit the post and Carleton won the shootout 2-1.  Daniel Hersh and Stephanie Watson were both named to the tournament All-Star team.  Hersh was then honoured as UofT Athlete of the Week for her exploits in the OUA finals.  Head Coach George Gross, Jr. (Jets) and Paul Pottier (K-W Inferno) were incredibly proud of the team's performance.

UT Men Win Gold

The University of Toronto men's water polo team sporting a heavy contingent of Golden Jets players and coaches traveled to Ottawa the weekend of Nov 16-18 and won the gold medal at the OUA championships.  The Varsity Blues have now won 8 of the past 11 OUA titles.  The Blues defeated Queen's (21-9), Western (14-6), McMaster (17-4), Ottawa (14-4) and Carleton (11-7) in the gold medal match.  Jets player Alan Chung was voted the tournament MVP.  Chung was also named to the All-Star team along with fellow Jets player Tuna Tali.  Chung was then named the UofT Athlete of the Week for his play at the championships.  Head Coach Vlad Tasevski and Assistant Coach Sean McGhie also play for the Jets senior men's team.
