JETS MEN FINISH TOURNEY UNDEFEATED

The Golden Jets senior men added two more impressive wins to conclude the opening weekend of MLWP league play. The Jets began the day by beating DDO (Montreal) 18-2 behind the six goal performance by Rudy Despaigne. Sukhmun Hare, Vlad Tasevski, Tuna Tali and Alan Chung each scored a pair of goals while Euan Scoffield, Daniel Ugray, Mike Chapman and Matt Hart had one apiece.

Later in the day the Jets again jumped out to a big first quarter lead eventually prevailing 16-3 over Ottawa United. Despaigne, Scoffield and Chung all had hat tricks. Paul Spooner and Chapman tallied two goals each with singles going to Hart, Tali and Ugray.

The four wins over the weekend put the Jets atop the standings in the MLWP Eastern Conference.

JETS U16 CONTINUE TO IMPROVE IN NCL PLAY

The Golden Jets U16 boys travelled to Gatineau for another NCL league tournament and came away with a victory and three losses but showed significant improvement in team play.

The team opened against powerhouse DDO Black and succumbed 24-9. Petar Kovacevic, Luka Pejanovic, Illan Rodriguez and Damek Bougie each scored twice with a single going to Gregory Nemeth.

The next day the Jets turned the tables on the DDO White squad winning 19-5. Kovacevic and Bougie led the way with four goals apiece. Elijah MacMillan notched a hat trick. Stevan Djordjevic, Pejanovic and Rodriguez tallied twice. James Engel and Nemeth netted one.

The Jets then came up with an inspired effort against CAMO. The score was tied 2-2 in the first and the Jets stayed close at 2-4 at the half and 3-7 at the end of three quarters. However, fatigue set in and the final was 11-4. Pejanovic had two goals while Kovacevic and Rodriguez scored once each.

The final game was a 18-9 loss to Ottawa. After falling behing 7-2 in the first quarter, the Jets roared back to within two goals with three minutes to go in the half. Bougie led the way with four markers, Pejanovic scored twice and Kovacevic, Djordjevic and Nemeth notched singles.
